In Holy Week

One of the favorite sayings on my wall.
Late. Are you late or showing up early nowadays?
On the sidewalk, a monstrous bug, as the ants get to it.
I find that when I have a lot to do, I'm meeting deadlines. Now, I'm late.

  • Late to send out one newsletter. And haven't even written one that usually goes out at the end of (last) month.
  • Late to meetings.
  • Late to think about things.
The week looks similar for everyone around the world.
We're raising funds for medical hazmat suits and masks. Want to help? I'll tell you how if you email me at communitybic@gmail.com.
Home sewn and purchased, all useful.
It creates a bit of a head fog, this switch from being with people to seeing them only online.
The thunder and lightning outside every afternoon. Sometimes it's so dark outside that I turn the lights on after lunch, instead of pulling the curtains so the sun doesn't heat the house.
Maybe it's that there are to many options. Do you find yourself wondering what to start first? I have 10 art tabs (free courses) open but have only started one.
Even the lizards are busy.
The other 4 tabs are seminars or conferences that I "need" during this shift from normal. I write the Easter talk during the night hours when my mind is clear.
I trim the flowers beside the entry and put a leaf and a few scraps in a vase.
I sew some masks, make some videos,
and move a crumbling sofa out of the way, from under the overhang near the entry to the driver shed. The view improves right away.
So ... what's keeping you busy? Parents of young ones, we know you're teaching and amusing your kids. Seniors, some of you are just doing what you always do. But the rest of you? What's up?

This is Holy week, when we remember what Jesus did for you. I will be doing the same, even if I hardly bear to take in the suffering that purchased my pardon.

Read more:
*I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on
the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,  but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do. Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out  of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.

Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

You shall not murder.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor’s house or land, his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

These are the commandments the Lord proclaimed in a loud voice to your whole assembly there on the mountain from out of the fire, the cloud and the deep darkness; and he added nothing more. Then he wrote them on two stone tablets and gave them to me. Deuteronomy 5:6-22

*Jesus said to the disciples, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” Mark 4:40
Moravian Prayer: Help us, Lord, for we are so often afraid. Take away the fear that robs us of our best selves and robs you of our service. Make us brave to live for you. Amen.
