May Day(s), including 2 snack recipes

Tuesday, May 5, 2020 Happy May Day to all who celebrate it!
By 5:30am, the sun's coming up and the birds are singing. The swing in sunlight during the months is always a surprise. When it starts to get light at 5:20-ish, I may put on eye masks. Until then, I swing my feet out of bed at 5:30 and get moving.
My first task is to clear emails and watch a seminar video. All is peaceful from the office window. I miss the BIC office; we're set up there for BIC Online so others use it. This is a close second. The floor-to-ceiling windows are blocked at the bottom by the dining-table-turned-desk. (The landlady's table, it's a heavy teak that I want to keep in good condition, so it's covered in plastic.)
Yesterday we visited with an artist friend. I've been driving around with this in my car for months. My connection was bad, so I missed some of what she said. W heard her say "keep it," and if that's true, I'm going to dress her up! before I send her home.
I'm going to try making health bars that look something like Costco's nut bars. I could gobble the Costco ones every day. They're delicious. Might as well learn to make my own.
Another thing I learned was how easy it is to sew beanbag covers. Haven't made one yet, but seriously, a simple twist in seams? I can do that with some of my extra fabric and then stuff them.
I also pan-baked some chocolate chip cookies - you put these in a cast-iron pan and cover them on medium heat for 10 minutes. I had a stainless pan that was too hot; we lifted them out without the burned bottom and they were delicious. Modifications coming up. Just smoosh all this together, heat your cast-iron skillet, pop in the cookie-sized dough, and cover for 10 min? I can do that. (The ones I put in the over were delicious, too.

This morning is our regular team meeting. Only two are missing; love this groups of hard workers.

But where can wisdom be found?
    Where does understanding dwell?

No mortal comprehends its worth;
    it cannot be found in the land of the living.
The deep says, “It is not in me”;
    the sea says, “It is not with me.”

It cannot be bought with the finest gold,
    nor can its price be weighed out in silver.
It cannot be bought with the gold of Ophir,
    with precious onyx or lapis lazuli.
Neither gold nor crystal can compare with it,
    nor can it be had for jewels of gold.

Coral and jasper are not worthy of mention;
    the price of wisdom is beyond rubies.
The topaz of Cush cannot compare with it;
    it cannot be bought with pure gold.

Where then does wisdom come from?
    Where does understanding dwell?

It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing,
    concealed even from the birds in the sky.
Destruction and Death say,
    “Only a rumor of it has reached our ears.”

God understands the way to it
    and he alone knows where it dwells,
 for he views the ends of the earth
    and sees everything under the heavens.

When he established the force of the wind
    and measured out the waters,
when he made a decree for the rain
    and a path for the thunderstorm,

then he looked at wisdom and appraised it;
    he confirmed it and tested it.
 And he said to the human race,
    “The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.”
[a poem from Job 28:12-28 (the oldest book of scripture)]
*Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. Psalm 73:1 NIV
*Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness before God; and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him. 1 John 3:21-22
Moravian Prayer: God, surely you are good to us, for you know our weakness and our disobedience, and love us anyway. May your love make us bold to approach you in prayer. May we be grateful for how you respond. Amen.
