A week of meetings and books

Sunday

We pass out bracelet charms from the USA to the youth group.

The flowers are weird and pretty this weekend.
Monday
Our friend is making a good recovery from double knee surgery.
When we walk the neighborhood, the trees overhead shade us from the sun.
Whatever direction you look, it's restful as soon as Jakarta tourists leave after a weekend.
The little hut for motorcycle drivers is becoming a station - now there is painted rock, a roof, and a bench. If you don't move things away, they become permanent installations, one step at a time.
The neighborhood center is being erected as well.
Tuesday
The morning sunshine cheers me as it appears.
Once the sun is up, the light is golden.
This line of sticks is planted along the road. I'll update when they've branched out.
Wednesday
This morning, the hedge is blooming.
At the Padma Hotel, someone is posing on a horse. Usually kids ride these.
We have breakfast, noodles with hot hot sauce, for breakfast.
The palms hacked to stumps a few months ago have flourished again.
We're about to start this "old" study with our teams. The idea is to align oneself with God's character and plans. I'm looking forward to it.
I'm sending the study of Acts forward again, too.
Among other things I'm reading this classic.
Along the street, the huge blossoms are falling from the trees.
Thursday
Breakfast is wontons in broth.
We have a date to the fish and bird markets. We spot this transport along the way. Notice the guy in flip-flops hanging off the driver's seat.
There are lots of birds but other cages have monkeys and
various lizards.
Lobsters seem to be the rage, coming in all colors.
There are marine fish hanging along the street as well.
There are even bats.
Friday
I heave up the rich food from lunch yesterday. Better to fast today. Walking is good for us though. We walk past a sign selling our house on the street. Our landlord still hasn't talked to us about this.
The snake plants are blooming.
So are these purple hedges.
With a headache and stomach rebelling, I do language school online. It will be an early night: I set my alarm for late evening when I have a Zoom meeting.

*I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory. Isaiah 66:18

*Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! Romans 5:1-9

*God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:t6

Moravian Prayer: Jesus, light of the world, amid both the gaudy lights and the dark corners of this life, we need a sense of glory—especially the glory we see in you. And when we see that glory, may that glory, that light, shine through us. Amen.
